Luminosity Spell

Intro
For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, a luminosity spell quite simply is a spell that generates light. That's about all it does. It's a very simple and harmless spell for the beginner who wants to practice and gain some confidence in the occult before embarking on something more challenging. It takes practice and you probably won't be able to do anything spectacular within your first few tries, but it's easier than some other skills (i.e. levitation).

Materials:
1 - Athame or Wand (can be substituted with index finger)

Procedure
For a spell that generates light, you'll naturally want to practice this in the dark. Have as few lights on as possible, especially flickering sources as they tend to be distracting. Hold your short wand out in front of you and visualize a fine glowing energy drawing toward its tip. If you don't have a wand, you can use an athame, your index finger, or any other point of focus. As you visualize the drawing of energy, chant these words repeatedly:

"With brightest white, give me divine light."

As the nature of chants go, you'll likely have to repeat this numerous times before you get a noteable reaction. If you maintain focus properly, you may begin to see the rest of the room grow dimmer. After much practice, you'll be able to light up a room with any point of focus you choose. Luminosity, once mastered, will prove a most useful skill and fun to play with. It will also help you practice visualization and concentration for other skills.
