SovereigntyPosted by: Tanoro - September 29, 2009People regard spiritual possession as a one-way concept. A living person either can or cannot be possessed by a spiritual entity. It is generally believed that there is no opposing course to this concept. Like many general beliefs that should, within themselves, be taken with a grain of salt, this one is highly incorrect. A living person can, in fact, take control over a lesser spirit using a technique similar to possession, called "sovereignty." Sovereignty is the ability and/or right to control handed to a governing body or higher power. In this case, the higher power is the practitioner gaining sovereignty over the spirit in question. This being done, the practitioner may order the spirit to disperse, move on, or willingly cooperate with an exorcism. The means by which a spirit is to be disposed I'll leave to you practitioners to decide. The procedure for sovereignty is relatively the same as what you may observe in cases of possession. In cases of possession, the spirit communicates with the subject on an unconscious level and tells them to behave in ways the subject ordinarily would not. Spirits lack conscious judgement and, therefore, can be infuenced by the conscious will of a living person. Attempt to connect to the spirit's being and its emotional state. You begin by speaking to the spirit directly. Use a calm and direct tone. Use your intuition to analyze the spirit's mind. Tell the spirit that you can see into it and you know what it is thinking. From this point on, you will not refer to yourself for any reason in speaking to the spirit. You begin to explain exactly what the spirit is feeling using its own point of view as if it were your own. Tell the spirit its own point of view from your speech, using pronouns like "I," "me" etc, referring to the spirit, not yourself. You are, in essence becoming one with the spirit while maintaining your own conscious judgement. Once the spirit is locked into this position, it becomes heavily vulnerable to audible suggestion. After thoroughly connecting to the spirit and analyzing it, you can start to manipulate it a little. Continue to tell the spirit what it is thinking, but drop a subtle lie or exageration every now and then to suggest the spirit is changing its mind in a way that is beneficial to you. Change the spirit's mind naturally and ever so slightly until its mind is completely different than what it originally was. For example, "As I [the spirit] gaze upon this unusual person [you], I begin to wonder what I am to do. Why am I here? Do I have any further purpose here? Should I consider moving on? Perhaps this person can help. Can I trust him/her? I believe I can. I will cooperate." This is, of course, an extremely summarized breakdown of how you might manipulate a spirit by planting a suggestion. In practice, the sovereignty dialogue is much longer, often taking 10 to 15 minutes to recite and changing depending on the spirit's natural reactions. Assembling the sovereignty dialogue is an art unto itself and requires extensive skills in coherent impromtu speaking. You must do this while staring down a spiritual entity. This is very difficult and not many practitioners have this sort of experience. This, of course, would not work on a conscious mind that has judgment and opinion of its own. However, an unconscious mind is fully influenced by such minor suggestions. Therefore, a person convincing a spirit that it believes something it does not is actually quite simple and effective. |
